How to Lose Weight the Real Deal
Do you want to lose weight? Really? Are you sure? If you follow the plan below, I promise you will be thin and you will keep the weight off.
The first thing I will tell you may or may not shock you but here it goes - diets do not work.
Dieting is simply a short term answer to weight loss - I mean really - how many bowls of cabbage soup can you eat.
So you want to know how to lose weight - for real. Here it is in simple terms.
It takes 3500 calories to gain one pound or lose one pound. So all you have to do is eat 2,000 calories a day and work out so you can burn 500 additional calories - which would put you at 1500 calories a day so far. Did you know that you burn around 2,000 cal. a day just by being alive? Yep, walking, breathing, your heart pumping, and basic motions burn about 2,000 cal. a day. So if you eat, 2,000 a day - you are even. Burn an additional 500 and you're in the negative. Get it yet? Every day you're negative 500 cal. a day by this method. So you're burning 3500 a week and therefore - losing a pound a week which is safe and recommended by a physician - by the way, I guess I should put a disclaimer right here that says do not follow this plan until you consult a physician which will keep my lawyer happy by saying that.
So you're burning 500 calories a day but you may be saying - the food - most health food is gross - how do I overcome bland, boring food. I can answer that too. Have you ever seen the little books at your local grocery checkout stand that say things like 15 healthy recipes and Eat great and lose weight. These are usually put together by companies like Pillsbury and Kraft Foods and they put their products in the recipes so you'll buy their ingredients. These little publications are wonderful resources to find great tasting food that is low in calories.
I would recommend that you buy a few of these books, find other recipes on the Internet and dedicate yourself to finding one recipe a day and commit to fixing these low cal foods.
Now what about the good stuff? Pizza, Fast Food, Deserts? Here is how it works.
Try walking a mile - if you can run - do that. But no matter what you do commit yourself to exercising and set goals. Then every two weeks you get one meal to eat ANYTHING you want and I mean anything. This gives you something to look forward to. Set goals, reach them and reward yourself. What I do is I run two miles on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday. Then I try to finish my runs at a certain time. If I meet my desired time then I get to eat Pizza on Friday night. After that Friday night is over, I push ahead another two weeks to get the same reward. I also bonus myself by setting a goal of a 10K - if I run a 10K in any given week then I get to eat anything I want the night I run the 10k.
So far you should be thinking - Okay, eat 2000 cal. a day and burn 500 cal. a day, find delicious low cal recipes once a day and reward myself every two weeks - right?
Okay, now you need to know this - this plan is not a diet - it is a lifestyle change. If you do this for six months you will feel way more energetic, you will have lost about 24 to 30 lbs. and you will be at a halfway goal of reach a weight loss of 60 lbs. in one year. Can you handle that? All this with no diet pills and no diet programs.
So, how about one more BONUS to this plan. This is what I do - whenever I am on vacation - I can eat anything I want. When it's Thanksgiving and Christmas - I eat anything I want however, I AM STILL EXERCISING. This is the key.
Remember this too - if you like things like Tae Bo and walking and lifting weights - then set up your own exercise routine so you don't get bored. Example Tae Bo on Mondays, Walking on Wednesdays and lifting weights on Fridays etc. Search the Internet to find out how many cal. are burned in 30 min. with your height and weight calculated. I would try searching for calorie calculator.
This is a REAL way to lose weight - do it and I promise results that last.
