Three Diet Smoothie Recipes Tastes Great and Helps You Lose Weight

Smoothies are a great way to fill yourself up with a quick, tasty, refreshing meal. During the summer months, a cold fruit smoothie is especially delightful, but be warned: drinking too many smoothies can help you pack on the pounds, and after working so hard to get in shape for the summer, that's the last thing you want to do.

Still, although smoothies are often high in calories, they also usually contain a fair amount of vitamins and other healthful benefits. So you do enjoy a smoothie without having to worry about putting on weight? Try one of these three diet smoothie recipes below. All are low-fat and low-calorie but still contain many essential ingredients that deliver necessary vitamins and nutritious benefits, as well as that most important ingredient, great taste!

You can easily purchase canned weight-loss smoothies from your supermarket or health food store, but flavors are often limited and sometimes quite bland. These diet smoothie recipes are sure to taste great and still deliver all the benefits that a canned weight loss smoothie promises.

Strawberry Banana Diet Smoothie Recipe
This smoothie recipe uses only a few simple ingredients but packs a lot of flavor and vitamins, as well as a decent amount of protein. Using a blender, mix together a banana, a cup of low-fat milk, a cup of ice, 3/4 cup non-fat yogurt, and five strawberries. This makes a nice thick smoothie, so it will help keep you full for a while and curb and cravings until your next meal. This smoothie contains about 240 calories, 1 gram o fat, and about 45 carbs.

Watermelon Smoothie
Watermelon lends itself well to any diet smoothie recipe because of its low fat and low calorie count. Combined with ice and any number of additional ingredients, such as low-fat milk, nonfat yogurt, or even a small quantity of lemon sherbet, you can make a very delicious, summery diet smoothie with a very low calorie count and virtually no fat.

Mixed Berry Smoothie
Mix together a cup of fresh or frozen berries. (A combination of blueberries, blackberries, strawberries, and raspberries), a 1/2 cup of nonfat yogurt, and a 1/2 cup of water or nonfat milk. This type of smoothie is high in protein and other nutrients, and low in fat and calories.

In addition to the ingredients in the recipes above, you can also add other nutritional supplements, such as protein powder or bee pollen, ginseng and more.
